The Learning Foundation Scholarship  will award outstanding Texas high school graduates who plan to earn a baccalaureate degree from an accredited, four-year college or university with financial assistance. Scholarships are to be utilized at an institution of higher learning and applicants must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award. Applicants must hold a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be enrolled as a full-time student during the fall academic semester. All qualifying areas subject to verification. The deadline for scholarship submissions is June 30 each year. 

To be eligible for the Learning Foundation Scholarship:

A) You must be a legal resident of  the state of Texas;

B) You must be 16 years of age or older;

C) You must either be enrolled in a qualified Texas high school;

D) You must hold a 3.0 or higher GPA;

E) Provide one reference letter; and

F) Write a 500 word essay on any of the following topics:

  • Why is attending college so important?
  • ​What do you think we should do about gun control in this country?
  • ​​How would you handle texting and driving?
  • What would you like to contribute to your community, society or family?
  • Describe a time in your life that has shaped who you are as a person.
  • This is what I believe in…
  • How do you define success?
  • What traits do you possess that will enhance your education or future career?
